A pioneer in the early days of the profession, Barbara C. Moore Busko is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who has been practicing in Central Pennsylvania for over 28 years. She holds a Master of Science Degree in Human Behavior and Development from Drexel University, where she also achieved her undergraduate degree in Humanities and Technology. Barbara completed her internship in Marriage and Family Therapy with the founder of Contextual Therapy, Ivan Nagy, MD. She has pursued formal, post-graduate level training in the use of Drawing in the Therapeutic Setting, Life-Death Transition, Eating Disorders and Body-Soul Rhythms, and Intuition Training. Her work has been inspired by many teachers and mentors including Greg Furth, PhD, Elizabeth Kubler-Ross, MD, Marion Woodman, PhD, Robert Sardello, PhD, Norman Sheeley, MD, and Caroline Myss, PhD, all of whom have helped to develop her special interest and talent in working holistically with individuals, families, and other healthcare providers to examine the relationship of body, mind, and soul. Barbara has developed and led numerous long-term, small-group, growth workshops for clients as well as educational and medical institutions, she has taught high school students, physicians, nurses, and other providers about the mind-body connection, and maintains a body of published work about the gifts of eating disorders and of depression as invitations to wholeness. Barbara also is a clinical supervisor for post-graduate internships in the mental health field. She is quite pleased with the practice that she is currently developing with her husband, Carlton Busko, MD, as they work together with clients and patients to generate a clinically relevant body of knowledge about the connection between physical and mental health, and the use of fully integrated mind-body treatment methods to promote healing. Barbara enjoys cooking, puttering around home and having fabulous dinners and conversations with friends and family, and hanging out with her dogs, cats, children and grandchildren.
